Presentation formats
Oral presentation
15 minutes of presentation followed by 5 minutes of questions, in parallel sessions grouped by theme. Rooms have a projector and a computer with PowerPoint; bring your slides on a USB drive.
Poster presentation
Posters up to A2 portrait (420 × 594 mm). Easels and fixing materials are provided. Presenters stand with their poster during the poster session to discuss it.
Abstract structure
A structured abstract helps reviewers judge your work fairly. The submission form counts words for you as you type.

How review works
- You submit your abstract and receive a reference number and a private author page.
- Members of the scientific committee review it (single blind). Reviewers with a conflict of interest step aside.
- You receive the decision by email, with the reviewers' comments and, if accepted, a formal Letter of Acceptance for funding applications. Normally within 10 working days, and in all cases by 16 June 2027.
- Accepted authors register. Authors who wish to publish upload the full paper (in English, up to 8,000 words) from their author page by 16 August 2027, one month before the conference. Full papers are reviewed again, and the proceedings are published by Emanate about one month after the conference, in October 2027.
Submissions must be original and not published elsewhere. Research with human participants, including people who use drugs, patients and minors, must have appropriate ethical approval and protect participants' confidentiality. Authors declare funding and competing interests, including any link to the alcohol, tobacco, gambling, cannabis or pharmaceutical industries. Use of generative AI must be disclosed, as set out in our AI policy.
